Open Question: ATI Crossfire, which card as main?

I currently have an XFX ATI HD 4770 as my main GPU, and attached to it via crossfire is an XFX ATI Radeon HD XXX edition 4870. By putting the better card (4870) in my first PCI slot, and plugging my monitor into that one instead, will i see a difference in performance?
