Open Question: My White comet goldfish has portions of its body turning a rusty yellow? whats happening to it?

I know it isn’t velvet disease cuz the fish shows barely any signs of the disease (it still has a large appetite and swims just fine with unclamped fins and has no ick like spots) and i change the 10 gallon tank every two weeks, which it shares with two other fish and a couple snails. i have a heater the keeps the tank at 68 degrees (cuz the heating in the room i keep the aquarium in gets down to 40 degrees in the winter), i have the aquarium lights and active filtration and aeration. I am assuming it is amonia burning or something cuz i got too many animals in the tank, (im working on getting another tank to help balance it out and keep my fish happier) but im not too sure. any information on what the problem is would be much appreciated. thank you very much in advance for any responses.
