Open Question: Working in France as an American?
Dec

I have a college degree and majored in TESL.
I spent this past summer in France for 3 months on a homestay with a French family.
My family had found a school that was looking for a foreign student to come and “work” for them and I was at the right place at the right time and they are interested in hiring me. I’d basically converse with the students in English, not really teaching them but doing somewhat of a culture exchange. I will be paid.
How possible is it for me to actually get a 6-month working visa there? They are telling me they are getting the OIF to sign the contract and then I will need to go to the embassy. Is it really this easy? I’ve heard so many things about the bureaucracy in France and that they can still deny me even if I have all the requirements.
