Open Question: early 2000s mustang GT vs BMW 3 series?

which is a better daily driver. i know the 3 series outperforms the mustang GT by a ward margin especially in the handling department. However I just have this feeling it wouldn’t be as easy/cheap to maintain opposed to the mustang gt.
i can get a 325i and a 2003 ish mustang GT for about the same price. both are abundant.
what would you say is a better daily driver for an enthusiast on a budget?
